About Us

Westmuckett Hawkes Ltd is a structural and civil engineering design practice with diverse experience of design on numerous award-winning projects using a varied pallet of materials.

John Westmuckett and Richard Hawkes formed Westmuckett Hawkes Ltd in August 2009 after working closely together on the design and delivery of Wimbledon’s Centre Court Roof at separate companies.  Since then, they have built up a team of skilled staff working on projects in the UK and abroad.

Due to their passion for structural and civil design both founding directors remain “hands-on” throughout a project, being involved in the process from concept through to the management and delivery of construction information.

Our Approach

Our ethos is to enjoy the many challenges of design and make the maximum use of the technology available to create structures which are both efficient and elegant.

Dealing with complex structures is our speciality and we thrive on collaborating with enthusiastic team members from all disciplines to develop and deliver efficient and practical solutions for our clients. We enjoy sharing our expertise to provide assistance and inspiration with the initial overview required at the scheming stage. This can then be followed with in-depth analytical and CAD modelling to optimise and realise the design.

We commit a highly experienced and dedicated team for the duration of the project and enhance this with the necessary technical resources required to deliver construction information.

The Team

Our team is proficient in designing and detailing using various materials. Consequently we are not constrained by preconceived ideas relating to structural form. We enjoy exploring the many possible solutions to a scheme through a proactive design approach, developing ideas with the Client, Architect and all Team members.

The size of our practice and our affiliations means that we are capable of successfully delivering large scale projects for high-profile clients, yet still able to maintain a personal service with the Directors' involvement at scheme design right through to construction.
